I don't know if this was stated already

The article starts out stating that Obama is proposing this energy penalty during this time of financial crisis, but then makes reference to a quote he made last year.

His quote last year was not made during the financial crisis.

Perhaps he has changed his stance on this issue since other variables in the equation have also changed.

Big Houses?

I'm from New England, and there are plenty of 'Big' houses here, as well as in other states in this country, that were built in the 18th, 19th and 20th centuries, well before an 'energy crisis'. Yes homes can be made more efficient, both large and small. But don't spew an idea that it's been only recently that Americans have owned or built big homes. They've been around for centuries. Clean Coal is the way!!!

Looks like no more jobs for coal workers

Obama will wipe out another large number of jobs in America and he will do even better then that, those who have no jobs will surely have no way of paying for the new electrical power to heat and cool their homes. How many of you even no how much coal is used in America and how many jobs depend on it? I guess if you are black, you do not work in coalmines because that would be hard, dangerous, manual labor, which some may think is too much like slavery. I suppose you think it will be so nice to live in a country where only the wealthy can afford electric heat for the winter or be able to make dinner on an electric stove. Maybe the great Obama will give all of us poor folk a nice little hut to live in. He is so kind to not make us pay taxes, since we are not going to have anything to pay taxes on, by the time he is done wiping out all our jobs we will all be living off government handouts or is this what most American people are waiting on? A free ride, a check in the mail each month and a food stamp card, well forget that too. Take a look over seas then you will see what your change and handouts will be. I cannot believe what the American People think they heard from this man's call for change. Did anyone notice who his friends are? HELLO! THEY are very nice Radical Revolutionary Terrorist, who hate America. Have even listen to his wife, she too hates America, well the white part anyhow. Most of you voted for his color of skin, and most of you will be living just like the rest of us who do not make a billion dollars a year very soon. I hate to think what will become of America in the next four years. I was excited, very excited about Obama the man at first. I knew in my heart he was the man to put this country back on it's feet, that was until his great story started to slowly open up with who he really is and what he is going to do to this country. I voted for a Republican, for the first time in my life and not because of skin color but because of his loyality to this country. At least I think he will try to undo what Bush has already done openly and honestly. Obama will add to it and lie about.

If Obama becomes president, anyone who thinks the heavy handed tax squandering congressional "leaders," Pelosi and Reed, won't join him in a totally left-wing spending spree that will, indeed, forever change the "face" of this nation, and the life of all who live here. The "first 100 days" will be a fiscal catastrophy, and both the people and generations to come will be paying an awesome and awful price for the irresponsibilty of a gullible unthinking electorate. Those who fail to note the lessons of history are condemned to relive it. Look at that palace of socialist panaceas called Great Britain. It is a bankrupt welfare state that provides a wretched life for the few and the masses alike. Do we really want to go down that shoddy path?

Cap and Trade...

You know that McCain also supports a cap-and-trade plan as the way to bring down net carbon emissions and control energy prices.

Obama is realistic about the costs--not just monetary--of his position, whereas McCain seems to think we can just make problems go away without changing how we live and operate in the world.

Obama - Coal & Energy Hikes

Well it's finally out so all can hear what Obama's true plans are. He has never balanced a budget for a city, a state and especially not the United States. Obama means a road down economic disaster and possible depression. Hope enough people hear about his plans for the coal industry and electricity hikes before they vote.
