The Economy and the Emerging McCain Comeback

Back to blog

Obama's a jerk.

How could someone who has the same outlook as young FIDEL CASTRO beat out a war hero and a natural born leader. This country is pathetic. Yeah, we want change... but do we need it that bad to possibly break our country down even farther?

Please be smart America. Half of you don't know anything about the real Obama, and no one's able to disprove any of the many bad fun facts about him.

I can't change anything, but I'm going to be so upset when everyone's complaining in six months.

It is not over till you know what........

It is not over yet. Voting has not even officially started. I am voting for McCain and my support for him has never waivered no matter what the polls or the economy is like because I always vote PROLIFE and PROFAMILY. I beleive if you can not get those two right ...you are in big trouble. Obama sweet talked me a couple of times while listening to him but I remembered about FREEDOM OF CHOICE ACT which he has VOWED to pass as his first Executive Order all the while claiming he PERSONALLY is not really for abortion. He also claims abortions have NOT gone down in the last 8 years which is a FLAT OUT LIE. Check any website ...see for yourself.

My baby Obama will spread wealth to all my friends

I know him for 20 years and I know he can do it.

He mentioned that in his 2001 radio talk, have you heard of it?

Go Obama! Go Socialism!

haha

This is some of the farthest reaching for logic by the brain washed right I've seen yet. McCain will be McToast on election day. It won't even be close...

Yep, the market is clearly Republican. My fuc$%ing god, how do idiots like you make your way onto a masthead?

Unbelievable

When the stock market does poorly, conservatives say it's because everyone thinks Obama is going to win. When the stock market has one good day, it's because McCain might win? Please. That's completely absurd. Even if the national tracking polls have tightened slightly in some of the polls (I assume you're ignoring the polls giving Obama double-digit leads nationally), the battleground state polls are all favoring Obama. Obama is ahead in Ohio, Virginia, Nevada, Colorado, Pennsylvania, and so on. He's so far ahead in these polls that I can't imagine there are really that many conservatives who believe McCain is going to win.

Dow v McCain

Saying the Dow's 1,000 point rise yesterday was due to some polls saying the race is tightening is a heroic feat. The state polls aren't showing any gain (nor are any of the betting markets as noted) and anyway there is zero evidence that the market favors a McCain presidency.

However, there is no need to resort to logic on this one. The markets being as they are at the moment are very likely to plummet tomorrow. Lead then "Markets take fright as McCain come back peters out..." :-)

The Economy and the Emerging McCain Comeback

May I disagree?

Conservatism remains a projection of the past into the future and therefore it is always wrong. On top of it, it depends on stats which are ALWAYS adjusted and stats cannot take into consideration not even a near future.

Wall Street likes McCain because he will transfer the needed taxes on the dollar value instead of having the corporations paying for them.

Very small enterprises may profit of such a politics but all others, are far more concerned by political stability, currency value and only then ... taxes.

If such a tax transfer implies a decreasing dollar value, exporting corporations will see their profits looking South and this could only be corrected within some future by some type of drastic devaluation while increasing the international debt. Both will imply agreements tough to get.

Such politics will hammer savings, being harmful to security while being a threat to future generations.

The fundamental wealth of a nation is its productivity. Maybe taxes should be an enhancement to productivity but in any case they are paid by the final client as they should be included in the selling price. Wasting energy cannot be included as a help to productivity and to this point something has to be done, NOW.

Indeed, there are useless expenses, as everywhere, due to some sort of corruption. Even if they completely disappear this is not going to be more than 1000 peanuts in regard to national budgets.

One point more, by repurchasing distressed properties one helps banks and not the people who were pushed into supporting a war economy: from 2000 to 20007 the amount of the sub-primed properties went from less than 100 to a bit less 700 BILLIONS.

In economy, the obvious is often demagogy.

I follow all polls

Unless you bring serious figures, you are dreaming myfriend. All polls show that no one is listening to McCain and his lies and stretching of the truth. The dow is still down today as I write this message on fears that those rate cuts are not going to be enough. The economy is a long way from recovery. To see someone saying otherwise is irresponsible. Take your McCain to a retirement home and disappear.

Plain speads wealth in Alaska

Here's a direct quote from Gov Palin: "And Alaska—we’re set up, unlike other states in the union, where it’s collectively Alaskans own the resources. So we share in the wealth when the development of these resources occurs. … It’s to maximize benefits for Alaskans, not an individual company, not some multinational somewhere, but for Alaskans."

In fact, Alaska’s Clear and Equitable Share (ACES) program, which manages the redistribution of oil wealth in Alaska, brings in so much money that the state needs no income or sales tax. In addition, this year ACES will provide every Alaskan with a check for an estimated $3,200.

(from thinkprogress.org)

Can you imagine if the revenue from oil in this country was distributed to the citizens like it is in Alaska? If we "collectively owned" the resources in this country? The only person in this race who is touting Socialism as a good thing is the Republican nominee for Vice-President.

Pot, meet Kettle.
