The Obama (Stock Market) Discount May Be Real

After The economy hit a 25 year high, with unemployment tying the best ever rates. Both facts that received almost no mainstream media coverage. The democrats won a majority in the house. The very next day wall street dropped about 150 points.

Now we are poised for a Washington sweep by the democrats, whos tax and spend platform is well documented. Why would anyone leave a large sum of their investments in anything that will see increased taxation?

Active investors? You mean like Buffett?

You know, the Oracle Of Omaha, America's greatest active investor? Er, the guy who's supporting Obama.

So this is the latest act of desperation from the McCainiacs. You've tried the Ayers thing. Beaten it to death, actually. Then it's Obama the Socialist, the guy who is taking away poor widdle Joe the Plumber's dream. (Joe, if you can't tell the difference between Gross and Net you shouldn't be in business). But even these things haven't worked, so now we have Obama as the cause of the stock market seloff!

Wachovia has posted the biggest ever quarterly loss for a bank. GM is desperately trying to get in bed with Chrysler, and its $5 billion in cash, to avoid bankruptcy for a few more months. Yahoo and HP are laying off thousands. Iceland is bankrupt, while Henry Paulson just demanded, and got, $700 billion of taxpayer money to nationalize the banks -- with the full backing of his boss, George W. Bush.

Collectively, the value of U.S. residential real estate has fallen by over $6 trillion over the past year, and is still falling.

And yet, despite these earth-shaking developments, you've seen fit to tie up an entire page of precious editorial space in a major publication, (all the more precious given the shrinking ad pages, eh?), with this pseudo-serious examination of the Obama Factor in investors' decisions to buy or sell stocks. Amazing. What you guys don't seem to realize is that America can no longer afford your silly antics. We need to have grown-ups in charge of the economy again.

Economy and stock market is better with Dems

The economy and stock market has historically done better with Democratic administrations. Think of the prosperity and budget surpluses in the Clinton years versus the bad times resulting from the Hoover and Bush years. We must be sure that corrupt Republicans are voted out and Barack Obama is elected President so we can get our country back to peace and prosperity.
