Did Barack "Spread the Wealth" Obama Just Blow the Election?

I Have an Idea

Sen. Obama can fulfill his Marxists dreams by doing thus:

Ensure that NOBODY makes more than 200,000 per year. (See, having more is just plain evil) By instituting such a law the US government can take the extra millions earned and re-distribute it to those earning lower income or to those earning nothing. People like:

Angelina Jolie- 14 mil per year

Jennifer Aniston 27 mil

David Letterman 45 mil

Jay leno 32 "

Miley Cyrus 25 "

Cameron Diaz 50 mil

Make a law that money earned over 200,000 per year will be spread to those less fortuntae and from JUST these 6 entertainers Sen. Obama will have 191,800,000 each year to re-distribute to those less fortunate. Can you imagine the extra money brought in from NBA, MLB and NFL stars? How about corporation owners? Let's just end poverty as we know it. NOBODY takes home over 200,000. That's fair. ISn't it? I mean , who NEEDS more than that?

Mao would be laughing in his coffin

"Sharing the weath?!" Well, that's nothing new! Almost a century ago, Mao and his radical group made this slogan to millions of poor Chinese peasants as he was smart enough to know that 80% of population were peasants and thus, he could control the country easily if he motivated them. He succeeded a few decades later and forced all landlords and others who had some properties to "share" except his own palace and giant salary! As a Chinese immigrant, I can't help telling that this whole theme reminds me too much of what Chinese went thru in the past century.

Well, Mao certainly wasn't the first in the world. Maxism and Leninism were ahead of him. Nevertheless, building up a wealthy community with everyone having a fair share and getting same pay and living happily thereafter is not a bad fantacy. If I recall correctly, Max started his fantacy while he was hungry in a cold winter... This is probably why Russians and Chinese bought those theories and fantacies to try it out. Well, we have seen the result. Ironically, China is getting better in its economy because they imitate our capitalism in the past couple of decades. The problem of such fantacy is that it against human nature and the system will kill people's motivations to compete. I am not saying that we shouldn't help those who are disabled and can't make it, but we shouldn't punish those who work so hard and sacrificed in various ways in their lives.

Do we need to follow others' dust blindly just because we don't like W's administration?! Think again! I hope my fellow people here are smart enough not to be fooled easily by some fancy words and short vision.

America is the land for LAZY PEOPLE

We are the one like Joe the plumber, works hard and earn a living. Yes, we will be the one get penalty by Obama who wants to "spread someone's wealth to others". If the country is in trouble, we all should be taxed and help out. Not just the middle class people. Why Obama does not encourage the poor to work harder. I know somepeople just arrived to USA and never paid any tax are gotting their welfare. They told me they are to applying 4 of their grandpartents to come and each one at lease willget $700 in welfare. The welfare system should be only given to those who have paid tax and now need help TEMPORARY not forever.

Spread the wealth

I have been retired for two yrs.now and do not have any wealth to spread around. Thanks to the Stock Market crisis I have lost 50% of my pension. When i was working,I worked for two different companies that forced you to work seven days a week, and if you did not want to do it,they politely told you to hit the road.I did it because the benefits and pay were way above average and my lack of Education would not allow me to go any where else and make the wages i was making. This allowed me to provide for my Family in a manner i was proud of.I would not have than nor would i now agree with sharing my hard earned profits with any one on a mandatory basis.I have donated plenty to different charities and have no problem still donating.Let those that Obama feels need the free wealth go to trade schools and learn a trade, and get a job, there still out there.Obama should force them to go get at least a High School Education and get in to some kind of trade school with the welfare money they already receive. After all, what he is propsing is nothing more thaan one more welfare check to those who already recieve welfare.

Befuddled masses

Why do Americans not understand economics or philosophy. For such a great nation, we are all rather dumb. "Spread the wealth" is not a tenant of Marxism. Marxism advocates the rise of the proletariat and the end of class and state. There would be no wealth to spread around. Everyone would receive their share of production based on their input. Obama's plan to reform the income tax code will by no means cause the destruction of capitalism. By the logic of McCain and many pundits, McCain is a Marxist too because he supports the income tax as well. The income tax is designed to "spread the wealth."

Obama uses Jedi Mind Tricks

He will get on the stump and say "I was not friends with Ayers, I do not know these people" while other channels are broadcasting previous speeches evidence showing the contrary.

It's like he is brainwashing people in to believing it's ok to go to a Church for 20 years while the preacher is damning the white race as oppressors.

This man's past is crucial to our future.

Does no one care what he's said in the past?

Does no one care where he worshipped, what he believes, who his mentors were or friends?

I guess that only matters when you are Republican, then even your clothes get picked on.

If you are Democrat, the media will let you say "Spread the Wealth" without thinking it sounds communist, you can say "My racists Pastor of 20 years is like an uncle I don't agree with"

and they will buy that.

Government is getting it's holds in the banks, it's funding groups like Acorn...(suspended funding once they got caught of voter fraud)

A get out the vote organization who is funded by the government and endorsing OBAMA... OMG how can that be legal?

Yeah, Jedi Mind tricks.. If he says he didn't say it.. you must believe he didn't regardless if they keep playing tapes of it over and over.

How's that denial about Barack not being a socialist playing now that two more tapes of him talking about redistributing wealth and reformatting the constitution have been found?

For you Libs who do not believe that Democrats do not believe in "Trickle down", i beg to differ. They just do it another way. They stand behind you, unzip the ol fly, and let the yellow stream trickle down your head.

tenacious moses of TN @ Oct 28, 2008 01:08:00 AM

Who cares about Joe the Plumber, who he purportedly is, etc. etc. ANYONE could have asked that --valid! -- question. The important part is Obama's response!!

So you want to "share the weath"?

Check this out -

Suppose that every day, ten men go out for beer and the bill for all ten comes to $100.

If they paid their bill the way we pay our taxes, it would go something like this:

The first four men (the poorest) would pay nothing.

The fifth would pay $1.

The sixth would pay $3.

The seventh would pay $7.

The eighth would pay $12.

The ninth would pay $18.

The tenth man (the richest) would pay $59.

So, that's what they decided to do. The ten men drank in the bar every day and seemed quite happy with the arrangement, until one day, the owner threw them a curve.

"Since you are all such good customers", he said, "I'm going to reduce the cost of your daily beer by $20."

Drinks for the ten now cost just $80.

The group still wanted to pay their bill the way we pay our taxes so the first four men were unaffected. They would still drink for free.

But what about the other six men - the paying customers? How could they divide the $20 windfall so that everyone would get his "fair share"?

They realized that $20 divided by six is $3.33. But if they subtracted that from everybody's share, then the fifth man and the sixth man would each end up being paid to drink his beer. So, the bar owner suggested that it would be fair to reduce each man's bill by roughly the same amount, and he proceeded to work out the amounts each should pay.

And so:

The fifth man, like the first four, now paid nothing (100% savings).

The sixth now paid $2 instead of $3 (33%savings).

The seventh now pay $5 instead of $7 (28%savings).

The eighth now paid $9 instead of $12 (25% savings).

The ninth now paid $14 instead of $18 (22% savings).

The tenth now paid $49 instead of $59 (16% savings).

Each of the six was better off than before. And the first four continued to drink for free. But once outside the restaurant, the men began to compare their savings.

"I only got a dollar out of the $20," declared the sixth man. He pointed to the tenth man, "but he got $10!"

"Yeah, that's right," exclaimed the fifth man. "I only saved a dollar, too. It's unfair that he got ten times more than I!"

"That's true!!" shouted the seventh man. "Why should he get $10 back when I got only two? The wealthy get all the breaks!" **

"Wait a minute," yelled the first four men in unison. "We didn't get anything at all. The system exploits the poor!"

The nine men surrounded the tenth and beat him up.

The next night the tenth man didn't show up for drinks, so the nine sat down and had beers without him. But when it came time to pay the bill, they discovered something important. They didn't have enough money between all of them for even half of the bill!

And that, boys and girls, journalists and college professors, is how our tax system works. The people who pay the highest taxes get the most benefit from a tax reduction. Tax them too much, attack them for being wealthy, and they just may not show up anymore. In fact, they might start drinking overseas where the atmosphere is somewhat friendlier.
