Bailout will not solve the US economic issues

It saddens me to know that this 2008 US economic bailout has been passed by the Senate, House and signed by President Bush.

This bailout is not going to help the US economy one bit. If anything, it is going to hurt citizen tax payers.

Exactly how is the bailout going to help middle class citizens, who like me are unemployed and unable to find professional, gainful employment and also have mounting medical bills?

Will it be the Run section or the wooden arrows section of this 2008 US economic bailout plan?

Maybe we are finally waking up from our very very long sleep.

We have been asleep for so long. We have not taken responsibility for ourselves, our natural resources and our fellow human beings. Perhaps it's critical for us to experience the results of what we have let slip by us. So many are interested now, more than ever before, myself included, in not only our country's welfare, but also the entire world. It is painful, and yet, extremely enlightening. GOOD! WE ARE WAKING UP! WE ARE TAKING BACK THE RESPONSIBILITY BECAUSE IT IS RIGHTFULLY OURS. FREEDOM DOES NOT COME FROM A GOVERNMENT. FREEDOM COMES FROM WITHIN EACH AND EVERY LIVING CREATURE. WE ARE FREEDOM. It seems that most Americans aren't willing to continue to sit and watch the handful that runs our government and country continue to line their pockets with our money, stripping us of our time, energy and compassion for our fellow man. Where do I stand regarding the bailout? I think it is just that: A BAILOUT FOR THE FEW THAT WE LET GET US INTO THIS MESS. IT IS A QUICK FIX. IS IT REALLY WHAT WE NEED AND WHAT WE WANT?? ALWAYS QUESTION. THE ANSWER LIES WITHIN.

I think we (the People) need to start a VOTE THEM OUT campaign. If my Senators vote yes on this, I vote no on them November 4th.

It's time to get the Corporations and their corrupting influence out of our political system.

Revised Bailout

I sure like the idea that we the american public have nothing to say about the "fine print" or for that matter anything else in regards to this mess!!!! We only find out after it's over and then we are not made aware of the add-on items like the money slated for the democratic cover-up called ACORN!!!!

I suggest as previous people that we throw each and every senator out of office and also limit their term of office to no more than two terms; that way they they will play hell to get into positions due to senority...Barney Frank being one of those!!!!

These guys talk about "golden handcuffs on wallstreet...how about their own???

We Have To Start Somewhere

I know people are ready to hang Wall Street upside-down, Italian style. I also know some deviates in that sector probably deserve it. The only problem is that if we choose to not act on this bailout and chase all the deviates to China, it will mean severe layoffs, impossible loan terms and business plight. Not to mention hurting the non Wall street people who put faith in this system of ours.

However, I do believe we must perform phases of this bailout; not putting all the fixes in at once, as if we know how this is all going to turn out(I do not believe anyone has those answers yet). We need to perform the steps per this article, the take a breath and see some results first.

As far as removal and socialism, I know the government will only be able to do so much, because Americans will only tolerate so much. We are so absolute in our thinking sometimes it just amazes me. We will never be a socialist dominated country. Do we need to remind ourselves of the so-called "free market days" before the Depression,when absolute capitalism brought us to our knees? Absolute anything is just no good, freedom or otherwise.

I own a small business and in these tough times I am barely getting by. If my business fails and I go under is the government going to come bail me out? For those of you who think that the government is using scare tactics about what will happen think again. The number of unemployed people and foreclosures is going to sky rocket. I don't agree with the plan but I agree that something has to be done.

The limit

Where is the part that says banks may not charge more that 5%over the interest rate they give depositors?

Where is the part that not caps, but decapitates financially the CEO's responsible?

Where is the part that says a mortgage company will not be able to approved a mortgage whose payment exceeds 1/4 of an applicant's gross income ?

Where's the part that says all interest rates that exceed 10% will be immediately repealed?

Where is the part that says a person may not have more than 4 credit cards?

Where is anything that resembles fiscal responsibility for main street America?

Time to face reality

I cant believe were being this cavalier about the credit crisis. We've lulled ourselves into thinking the problem always goes away, the problem always fixes itself. Why not bailout the financial market and regulate these companies from doing what got us into this situation? Sure, this will slow down growth but make our economy more sound. It seems to me that what has made the US so prosperous over the past 30 years is part and parcel to the mess we are in. Companies made huge profits because they took huge risks. If the lending institutions aren't going to be responsible, and those who lend from them arent going to be responsible, someone else has to take it upon themselves to set aside the rules. Taxpayers claim they will be the victims of a bailout when in fact, they are part of the problem!
