The only way Republicans will have a big 2010 is if they create new lies about how unregulated free enterprise, a mad-hatter church crowd having fits in the pews and a bunch of unnecessary wars will fix everything. The old lies to those ends, as even Jimmy now sees for 2008, are not working.

Obama will be a good enough communicator to prevent the new lies from taking hold. A renewal of the fairness doctrine in broad-casting will also serve to see that talk radio and TV become useful educational tools once again, instead of hate mills.
