Why McCain Goes Easy on Fannie and the CRA

80%-plus of blacks are already voting for Obama

So McCain's campaign is concerned "there is a racial component to criticism of the Community Reinvestment Act that can make it sound like you are scapegoating minorities for Wall Street's problems."

So what?

Perhaps the McCain campaign needs to be reminded of the current electoral math, that well over 80% of blacks are expected to vote for Obama. Their votes are not in play, and John McCain has no chance whatsover of getting those votes no matter what.

John McCain needs to gather his votes from the 85% of Americans that are not black. He can't afford to impair his chances to do that by worrying about the less than 3% of Americans who are black and would consider voting for someone other than Obama.

McCain should attack Democrats on the economy

John McCain should attack Obama on the economy (e.g., lawyer for ACORN), not try to change the subject from the economy. The Democrats are culpable for insisting on loans for people who couldn't afford them. Even Saturday Night Live was able to point this out in one of their skits. Attacking Obama on character is not going to work. McCain could be attacking him aggressively on the economy. Who's running the McCain campaign?

Disgusted

After Palin's non-response to Biden's opening that the curent financial mess is the result of the past 8 years of failed Bush policies, I was so disgusted that I turned off the debate figuring the election was lost due to a lack of Republican spine.

Don't the Republican's know that there is far more at stake than this election? The reputation of capitalism around the world is suffering by allowing Obama's distortions to stand instead of the truth.

By being afraid to be called racist for stating the truth - I suppose if Obama does become President, the loyal opposition will remain silent for 4 years.

Commuity Reinvestment Act

All we heard in the first debate from Obama was that the reason for the current credit crisis rests with the Bush administration and it's economic policy. McCain is wrong not to

state the facts. That Jimmy Carter signed the bill in 1977 and Wm. Clinton expanded the Law 1994 to bring pressure to bare on the financial institutions to make loans knowing the burrower could not possibly repay the loan. ITS TIME TO STEP FORWARD AND TELL IT LIKE IT IS!!!!!!!!! COME ON JOHN

Note: Nice guys have a habit of finishing last!!!

McCain's Timidity

The vast majority of the American population is lazy and ill-informed. They wait for someone to spell things out for them. McCain has to show them the connected dots. They are too lazy and stupid to do it themselves. It has to be done, John, and you have to do it if you want to win this thing. The country deserves it and you say "country first," so do it! Quit being timid.

GOP Buyers Remorse

Just as many Democrats have found that they've made a big mistake in nominating an empty-suit Marxist, Republicans are discovering that they’ve nominated a Democrat. This shouldn’t have been a surprise, since both Obama and McCain were chosen by the mainstream media. But still, people here seem to be.

Look at the facts: With the exception of his positions on defense, McCain is far left of moderate, even by liberal standards. McCain helped front the anti-free-speech “Campaign Finance Reform”, primarily a Democrat objective. His economics are not free-market driven. And he’s believes in anthropogenic “global warming”.

In fact, if you pull out his positions on Iraq, he would fit comfortably within the Democratic mainstream.

The last 2 weeks provided him an excellent opportunity to completely differentiate himself from both the Bush economy and the Democrats by standing against a taxpayer-funded bailout. But instead of making the point that it’s been over 30 years of government interference via Fannie & Freddie in the marketplace that brought us here, he instead wants to play the role of “DC insider” to broker a deal; a deal, by the way, that just amplified exactly EVERYTHING that is wrong with DC economics and tax policy.

So when you complain that he’s not going after Obama on almost everything, there’s a reason. It’s because there isn’t as much difference between the two as you think.

I think we’re screwed for the next several years. The real questions are: Who is going to be our next Ronald Reagan, and is it too late?

Wake up John McCain!

John has the greatest VP candidate I've seen in decades and what does he do, stand at the podium and tell the world what great people the democrats are, how he will "reach across the aisle" and he would even appoint them to his cabinet! Wake up John and expose Obama for what he is, a radical, socialist liberal that will bring this great country to its knees!

NC Residents Blame Republicans in Poll

McCain has got speak out on this. A poll was done in NC that showed 50% blame the Republicans opposed to 34% blaming the Democrats for the current financial mess. The pollsters were shocked because THIS IS A REPUBLICAN STATE. This is a state that McCain was safe in until the last two weeks where now Obama has creeped ahead...and understandably if even the republicans of the state think this mess is the fault of the republicans.

Come On McCain!

Forget the Ayres connection for a while and lets focus on the economy and Obama's connection with Franklin Raines! The fact that he was in charge of Fannie and that he lied in order to receive $90 million and now he's Obama's ADVISOR!!!!

Come On!!!!!!
