Tom Ridge Ruse: CEO Meg Whitman as Veep?

Whitman of Ebay are you kidding???

Ebay might have made Meg lots of money but Ebay is pretty much synonymous with fraud and vasts amounts of it. Fraud that Ebay never really cracked down on because as many suspect, even a fraudulent Ebay exchange made the corporation money.

The other huge problem with Ebay is that a certain amount of the growth in the solo proprietor sector was due to members selling personal items out of sheer economic survival, i.e. to make the rent, pay the mortgage, etc.

I don't think it's a smart idea to have candidate who owns 8 homes and is worth 100 million having a veep a heart beat away from the Presidency of an elderly man, the VP being extraordinary wealthy based on middle class people selling off their lives to survive hard times is a really good idea.

Beauty and the Whitman...

Governor Palin of Alaska is a former beauty queen; Ms. Whitman former President and CEO of eBay. Lets face it, in politics you judge a book by its cover. Although both women are highly educated, Palin is TOO good looking to be a running mate for McCain. Whitman wins on this one because she is more middle of the road. This way McCain still gets the votes he would get with a female veep.

Not Palin or Whitman

While I admire both of these women, there are three considerations for McCain. 1)His age. 2)win swing states. 3)don't do anything to keep socons away from the polls on election day. To satisfy: 1) he must choose someone that people would trust to be POTUS if McCain died before his term would be up. Palin and Whitman are not POTUS material. People like Romney and Guliani are. Has to be someone from politics who has held important positions. 2) must be someone who can deliver at least one of the major states in play (Palin and Whitman do nothing to help him) and should be someone not connected to the Bush admin, 3) must be someone who does not turn away the socons, i.e. must be conservative or moderate. If he goes with Liberman he risks losing a lot of votes from the right, while gaining votes from the center. Risky (and unnecessary) strategy. Smartest move would be to go with Romney. He could win Michigan, he's young and sharp, he's Presidential (experienced leader), economic bonafides, and won't turn off the right (or the swing voters). He needs someone who is a complement - not more of the same - as Liberman would be. But I think McCain dislikes Mitt so much that he won't go with him. Usually VP isn't that important, but I think McCain's choice is crucial because of his age.

Either would be a top notch choice. Juxtapose these executives' accomplishments versus Obama's empty score card. If not to be, then here's hoping for Mitt Romney.

McCain's VP Pick

If John McCain has the temerity to pick a pro-choice running mate, even as bad as it will be under Obama, I can not and I will not ever vote for John McCain if he is so foolish to abandon his pro-life history and record. I have just read tonight that he will not choose Ridge or Leiberman or another pro-choicer. I hope that this is accurate and that he confirms his statements of supporting the sanctity of human life made by him last Saturday night by choosing a pro-life VP. Obama is most vunerable on this issue because of his radical commitment to the destruction of all pre-born human life. Supporting and advancing the sanctity of all human life is the morally right position and can be a significant factor in McCain's victory this November if he has the courage of his convictions, which I hope and pray he does. Millions of lives are depending on his decision. Choose life, Senator McCain, Choose life!
