Two Cheers for Russia's Invasion of Georgia

Wrong

"I am a Libertarian... I will follow the Republicans if the subject is security, defence, personal protection, and family issues for sure. This weekling above my post is an idiot!"

No Libertarian would say that.. Nor type that poorly. You sir are not a Libertarian. Libertarians are AGAINST government spying on citizens, AGAINST going into police actions. And would only fight a war of defense. No preemptive strikes. If they were lincoln republicans you could follow them but those died out around the time Loncoln himself was gunned down.

So change your party affiliation before you bring even more shame on libertarians.

Also rUSSR I enjoyed your flex of muscle to show you're in change.. Next time try not to have your fighter-bombers shot down LULZ

RUSSIA IS Loosing it as of 8/15/08

Russia is now having a fit today because Poland wants the missile defense system in their country that the USA has developed. SO HERE IS THE DEAL...... SHUT UP you Russian commies. YOU invaded Poland in 1939, Hungary in 1956, Cech republic in 1968,Afganistan in 1979 and now Georgia in 2008. The Missile defense system Poland wants is to stop nuke or conventional missiles. So if you are so upset about them then that MEANS YOU ARE PLANNING TO USE THEM. Commie Russians are on the move again......WAKE UP WORLD. POLAND HAS REASON TO ASK for them. YOU INVADED THEM FIRST YOU COMMIE MORONS.

Russian Invasion of Georgia

The Russian invastion of Georgia is NOT a surprise to me. Commies are never to be Trusted, even after the collaps of the Soviet Union I knew the Russian commies were still there. As for any comparison to our IRAQ invasion, there is NONE. We had a cease-fire agreement with Sudam and he violated it many times thereby allowing us to move back in and kill him. Now we are setting up a democracy where the iraqi people VOTED for there government. The Commie Russians invaded a neighbor without true cause to steal the oil and oppress the Georgian people. More reason why the Democrats in congress need to resign and get the hell out of the way on DRILLING OUR OWN OIL, COAL, GAS and Oil Shale.

what really happened

The empirical data is as follows: Georgia conducted a sneak attack upon South Ossetia. They first turned on Russian peace keepers and murdered them. Then, forces trained by Israeli and U.S. special 'instructors' committed ethnic cleansing upon Ossetian villages and Ossetia's capital. Russia counterattacked to save Ossetia and followed the Georgian troops as far as the next city, which was not destroyed (as Georgian propaganda would want us to believe) as can be seen in videos of the city. It is barely touched. Upon reaching an accord with Sarkozy the Russians ceased further attacks.

Georgia is a client state of the U.S. It would not have attacked Ossetia without U.S. approval. You must ask yourself what was Washington's strategy here. Because it is Washington (the U.S. Hegemony) that seeks to control the world. Remember what Bush's neoconservatives wrote that they wanted... a Unipolar World.

I guess Russia doesn't want to be a part of the 'Unipolar World'. I can't blame them. Even though I am a Clinical Psychologist in the U.S., I don't want a 'Unipolar World' either. Particularly one characterized by such atrocities and death as is typified by the one the American Empire is trying to establish.

Americans as a rule have been dumbed down by the main stream media that presents only the views consonant with the rulers of our once decent Constitutional Republic. The Constitution is now gone as is the Republic.

Russian Invasion of Georgia

The Russians, who feel like they have been punk'd for the last 20 years, are playing like chess players. The Poles, who apparently are not paying attention, just ratified the Missle Defense Agreement. The Americans are playing like poker players. Either NATO is going to be dissolved or there is going to be a military confrontation between the U.S. and the Russians. The situation is ripe for fatal miscalculations. Both sides will tell themselves, "No rational person would take the chance that this could spin out of control"

The European governments in 1914 were probably saying the same thing.

History is being made.

Its About Time

Russia should not have stopped until they reached Tbilizi. For the last 15 years America with Europe in tow has run amok all over the world. What have we gained with all this military adventurism? 911 and our brave sons and daughters dying in Iraq and Afghanistan along with the utter trampling of our constitution by that sap baby Bush. Our economy is a smoldering ruin and our society is a long way down the proverbial toilet.

A real Libertarian would be calling for our troops to come home and protect OUR BORDERS. Stop meddling and stop creating ever more enemies throughout the world. Certainly Kosovo and South Ossetia are on par as far as succession by minorities go and if Serbia had invaded Kosovo, Nato would have certainly intervened just like Russia did. Mr Saakasvelli decided to send his gang of thugs into South Ossetia and didn't expect that Russia would respond? If thats true then he is a bigger lunatic then Saddam Hussein.

"Whoever votes for their resolved party before hearing the actual issues, and long term ramifications of them, is a god damned moron."

Well, then, whoever your in CT, you're a god damned moron.

"you ask why would america want to be held hostage to oil pipelines?Maybe you should ask cheny and bushs freinds how much money theyve made since the wars for oil began. It seems some people are making ooodles of money from this arrangement.Always follow the money."

You mean like Barbara Boxer of CA and John Kerry of MA? It seems Dems have made more money on oil deals through stock ownership than Bush and Cheney have.

Realistic Response to a Misguided Libertarian

Politics isn't that black and white. You're right, usually the Republican is your best chance at war and saving money and appearing resolved. Bush achieved none of this. He wasted all of our money, wants to fight a, in the long run, unwinnable conflict, and can't rally his own people behind his ideals. We're LESS safe, LESS secure, LESS defended and WORSE off. Is it because we elected a Republican? No - it's because you elected a warmongering imbecile with a vision instead of a plan.

Whoever votes for their resolved party before hearing the actual issues, and long term ramifications of them, is a god damned moron.
