"Fair tax"

The only Fair [national sales] Tax would be one that excluded

1. personal services [your doctor, dentist, auto mechanic and food server],

2. necessities [a home, any and all food, medicines and medical supplies] and

3. used goods [other than high ticket items like cars, boats and other luxury items].

Let's ask the Fair Tax people to exclude those items so that it is possible to avoid paying taxes when your life style is simple by choice or necessity.

Makes it easy

The election of Bob Barr as the Libertarian Party candidate just makes it easier for me to write in "Ron Paul" as my vote in November.

I almost had to do some soul searching if Dr. Ruwart was elected on whether to stick with Dr. Paul after all the work I've put in or to help amplify the great message that I know Dr. Ruwart possesses. (Not to mention watching all of the hypocritical women's groups trying to explain their silence in not supporting Dr. Ruwart after calling for all women to get behind Hillary.)

Libertarians

There is so much bad information here it scares me. Libertarians wish to eliminate income tax and replace it with nothing. Bob Barr wasn't chosen by the Libertarian Party leaders he was voted in by Libertarian Delegates from all over this nation in a RUN-OFF voting style that gives all the candidates including NOTA (None of the Above), equal footing. Near the end, his closest rival was Dr. Mary Ruwart, a long time Libertarian activist. The Libertarian Party and it's candidates promote and defend individual liberty, and the rights of individual Americans to peacefully live their lives as they see fit so long as they respect the equal rights of others to do so also. They believe the fruits of your labor should be yours to keep and that government has no moral claim to them. Libertarians oppose the "Patriot Act" and "Real ID". Libertarians oppose the war in Iraq and promote our immediate withdrawal in a safe and timely mannor.

A large percentage of Libertarians have given personal time and money in support of Presidential candidate Ron Paul. If he had chosen to run for the top spot on the Libertarian ticket, I believe he would have easily won it. Ron Paul's Libertarian message of restoring individual freedom and reducing the size of our coercive government has resonated with millions of Americans. His message is and always was, a Libertarian message. He has chosen to fight within the Republican party for change. Libertarians wish him well, but realize that change seldom occures from "inside". We have often witnessed Republican leadership slam doors on Ron Paul supporters who were trying to gain access to that party to make needed changes in it's direction. Those Ron Paul supporters would have been a great asset to the Republican party, but in too many cases they were shunned. I personally welcome all who believe in Liberty and Freedom to explore the Libertarian Party at lp.org. Bob Barr is the Libertarian candidate for President. We do not gather behind him in support of the man, but like Ron Paul's followers, we gather behind him in support of the Libertarian message.

Just say NO to FairTax

The FairTax will even tax your food. Nothing Fair about it. Why not just give everyone a ration card? If Barr is stumping the worst plan ever devised he will never get my vote! I can't imagine why so many people fell for this rotten plan in the first place.

Vote Libertarian - double tax the elderly

I'm retired & living on savings. I've ALREADY paid taxes on every dime and my nest egg would be devalued by around 1/3 if the Libertarians' sales tax is enacted. The "Fairtax" plan would attempt to reduce it's regressive nature with a "prebate" check. IMAGINE - A Libertarian candidate for president advocating government checks for everybody. I'm sitting this one out!

Huh?

Ron Paul called for following the constitution, and that's pretty much about it not citizens printing their own money. Why didn't you just say that? Why do the writers of these articles insist on killing their credibility and removing themselves from facts? Try not to get it mixed up.Barr, if Paul doesn't get in, will be the only conservative in the race. From the quotes off of Barr's website that you have I see a pretty clear cut plan for following the rule of law(the constitution) as opposed to the fringe lunatic global welfare ideas of Amnesty 'Ciento' Mccain and the socialist ideas of Obama.

Bob Barr is not Ron Paul

Many people don't realize that if a third party wants to gain recognition, they need to stop acting like "wackos" and start talking more mainstream. The average American is not ready to abolish the Fed. They simply can't handle that kind of information just yet. They need to be speaking in a way that the average voter can understand.

Many people consider Ron Paul to be a "wacko", even though he is not. If one wants to be successful in todays politics, one can not brand themselves as a "wacko". The Libertarian Party needs name recognition and Bob Barr is it.
