Who Are the Obamacans?

Hey thanks for quoting my blog over at the Obama site. What you failed to include was the part I wrote about being one of the rich people and not wanting my taxes increased.

Also - please note that the more I have learned about Mr. Obama's policies the less i like him. Here are the items with which I have a problem with his policies:

Increase my taxes - I hate taxes. - However, given Mr McCains history I am not convinced that he will keep my taxes low.

Last thing we need is to kill business with higher taxes.

Socialized medicine. - I am not against some form of assistance for healthcare but a government run program is not my idea of good policy. Mr. Obama has given me some hope that this would not be a massive program and would require some form of repayment from those gaining the benefit of the program.

What do I like about him? I still like his leadership and vision. He is a very dynamic person. I am still on the fence however I did vote for him in the Texas Primary. My first ever vote for a democrat presidential candidate.

No I am not an idiot.

I am unhappy with the spending that we Republicans did when we had total control of both houses and the whitehouse. It really made me mad that when we finally gained control we F'd it up and didnt keep to our principals of small government and low taxes. So if thats what we do when we are in power I have decided to dig past the usual democrat thought of - oh they will just raise taxes and increase government spending and programs. Well if I am going to get bigger government either way I may as well look at the other team for once.

I have always concidered myself a Financial conservative and a Social Moderate. I vote my pocket book and well this time I just see hands reaching toward my wallet from both sides.

Anyway - I have removed my blog post to which you have linked as i never thought it would be used in a National publication. By the way, If you want to use my posts in the future please send a check for the use of my material.

Look past the words of the candidates, look at the history, and make your decision. Thats what I am doing and as stated above I am still undecided. But if I have to choose between hillary or obama as the final choice to run against McCain well I would much rather have Obama as my choice than that witch.

The failure of conservatism

Conservatives were in power for 6 years with NO opposition by liberals. If conservatism is so great for the people, why would anyone vote for Barack?

As a Republican...

I can say from my perspective that I fully support Barack Obama but If Hillary Clinton is the nominee I will vote for John McCain.

Why do I support Senator Obama as a registered Republican? It is not because he is an eloquent speaker, though being able to clearly articulate a point and inspire the masses definitely helps him, it is because in him I see somebody who can bring about some sort of change in Washington.

I obviously do not agree with all of his policies. I agree with some of his policies, I disagree with some, but that for me is not enough to lessen my support.

Just in looking at the Coburn/Obama Federal Funding Accountability and Transparency Act shows me that when he says he wants to make government more accountable, make government more transparent he means what he says. It is not all empty rhetoric as many blindly suggest.

So, as a Republican I voted (twice) for President Bush, who is a conservative but hasn't yet vetoed a spending bill (well he might have just vetoed one recently I will have to look into that, but one in 7 years is nothing to write home about), but now I feel it is time for a change.
