Obama's Trillion-Dollar Spending Plan

Back to blog

In my opinion, I should be allowed to use my money in a way I see fit. If I want to invest my money in a market, I should be allowed to, and if I want to stick my entire paycheck under my mattress at home, like my grandparents did, I should be given the choice to. Based on what I’ve learned about Obama’s financial plan, he is going to be taking more of my money away from me and putting it into a system that doesn’t even give me interest. Everyone says that the social security program needs to be renovated, and yet they ignore the fact that the government has been taking interest free loans out of this system, and many times doesn’t repay these loans in a timely fashion.

Give me my money back, and if you are going to use it, then give me interest on it.

WOW

I don't understand how people think that this is a good idea. The problems with social security are 1) It was a voluntary program to begin with before the democrats made it a mandatory program. 2) It was designed to supplement a retirees pay. Not to BE their pay. 3)Please don't forget that, at that time, the average retiree could expect to live another 5 years maybe 10 at the most after they retired. So of course social security is running out of money. Never mind the fact that the number of people that are getting social security has gone up. They are paying more in benefits to to these people because they are just living longer.

I'm still thinking that Obama sounds like a hypocrite. After all he did vote in favor of Bushes budgets. And I still don't understand how increasing the national budget to over a half a trillion dollars is going to help us out of this situation. His spending cuts and his tax plans only account for a part of the money that is needed to pay for all of his absurd social programs.

For a country that was founded on a form of anarchy, our government is unbelievably large. The founding fathers must be tuning in their graves. They setup this government the way that they did to try and protect us from this kind of over bloated government. And yet here we stand, in the middle of a huge financial fiasco. If memory serves I think that it was we the people that put us in this bad economic situation. That being said, I think that it should be We The People that need to fix it. Why don't we try to prevent the government from growing any more. And taking any more money out of our pockets. And in case anyone is wondering I make about $35,000 a year.

Obamunnism?

"From each according to his ability, from each according to his need."

Obama's plan is Marxism, plain and simple as can be.

Obama is not the only candidate in this race

Looking ahead, it is clear that this country is going to need a lot of money in the next decade to be stabilized. Both candidates in this presidential election are proposing huge budgets and neither really has an idea of how they are going to keep their spending in check. At least what Obama is proposing to do will put money back into the pocket of the American middle class, the real consumers of America who keep the economy driving. This is a start. Reversing 8 years of irresponsible unregulated spending is going to take a lot of fixing and neither candidate will be capable of building America back up to its Clinton era self, even given two terms of political office.

Dear Obama

Dear Obama: I own a small landscape business. I work about 70 hours a week and I'm not rich. I donate about $20,000 a year in services to environmental non-profit organizations. My clients typically make well over $250,000 a year and enable me to donate to my favorite non-profits. If my clients have to pay more taxes I'm going to lose work; layoff people; and cut-out donations to my non-profits.

It's simple, I don't want government to "redistribute the wealth", I can do a better job of redistribution.

Don't raise taxes !

Barack Obama wants to spend billions more on worthwhile items.

Barack Obama has brought up some very worthwhile items he wants to spend billions of dollars on. Some of the big ticket items include $100 billion per year for national health care, an increase of $18 billion per year for K-12 education, $15 billion per year in alternative energy, $50 billion to rebuild our infrastructure, $3.5 billion per year for a national service organization, $10 billion for mortgage relief, $215 billion for student grants so more kids can go to college, and $4k to employers for every new employee they hire.

Wow! Nobody can deny that all of these things are very worth while.

At the same time Obama is increasing spending, he giving 95% of Americans a tax cut. He is also giving $70 billion to people who do not even pay any taxes.

Another WOW! Who isn’t for lower taxes?

I keep hearing that the $700 billion recently passed by Congress isn’t doing the job and that additional spending may be needed. Today I read that the democratically controlled congress is looking at passing another $300 billion in spending to “stimulate the economy”.

Let’s get real! How are we going to pay for all of this new spending when we are already over $10 trillion dollars in debt?

As much as all of us would like to see spending for all these worthwhile causes, most families can’t keep up with their current tax load and bills.

Minnesotan’s, we can’t afford Barack Obama!

What America are you living in?

EVERY REPLUBLICAN IN AMERICA IS WORRIED ABOUT THE REDISTRUBUTION OF WEALTH WITH OBAMA'S PLAN. I BELEIVE THEY LIVE IN PLACE WHERE ALL AMERICANS CAN FEED AND SHELTER THEIR FAMILIES. THAT IS NOT THE REALITY OF WHERE I LIVE. PICTURE THIS. A 54 YEAR OLD MAN, ARMY VET THAT HAS SERVED HIS COUNTRY DOES NOT HAVE ENOUGH MONEY TO PAY HIS MORTGAGE ,PAY HIS CAR NOTE, FEED HIS FAMILY, KEEP THE LIGHTS ON, PAY HIS TAXES,ALL BECAUSE THE COMPANY HE WORKED FOR MADE HIM PACK-UP THE PRINT PRESS WE WORKED AT FOR 15 YEARS AND SENT IT TO CHINA. IN THE TOWN HE LIVES IN MOST OF THE PEOPLE WORKED AT THAT PLANT AND THEY TOO ARE IN THE SAME BOAT. SINCE YOU HAVE ENOUGH MONEY TO DO ALL OF THIS THING FOR YOURSELF AND A SURPLUS OF MONEY TO VACATION,INVEST,AND BUY MORE THEN YOU REALLY NEED. COULD YOU TAKE A MORAL HIGH GROUND AND SAY I'M AN AMERICAN HE IS AN AMERICAN SINCE I HAVE TOO MUCH I'LL GIVE HIM SOME OF THE MONEY I DON'T NEED TO HELP. IS IT THE REDISTRUBUTION OF WEALTH OR IS IT HELPING ANOTHER AMERICAN IN NEED. HMMMMMM MAYBE YOUR GREED WILL NOT ALLOW YOU TO SEE THAT THING

ARE REALLY BAD FOR MANY OF US. SO SINCE YOU CANNOT SEE THERE IS A NEED IN AMERICA RIGHT NOW. IM GLAD WE HAVE SOMEONE THINKING OF THOSE OF US IN THE OTHER AMERICA. IF NOT HIM THEN 82 YEAR WOMAN THAT ONLY RECEIVES $640 A MONTH FROM SOCIAL SECURITY AND THE RENT IN HER APARTMENT IS $450. CAN YOU HELP HER? BUT WE CAN TAKE $700 BILLION FROM THESE SAME TAX PAYERS AND BAILOUT COMPANIES THAT ROBBED THIS SAMES PEOPLE.

Obama's Finanical Plan

Sure, sure you all jump on him like a dog jumps on a bone, but he's the only one giving a detailed plan to help Americans in this tough time. The other guy (Mccain) gives only vague ideas of his plan that he changes every few days. Obama has the guts to put forth his plan for all to see. If the American people have to pay something somewhere to get help they need I don't think there's many who would complain to loudly (at least he giving us more then we have had under Bush or McCain.
