Why Supply-Siders Will Rally to McCain

As all the baby boomers retire, health care sooner or later becomes their #1 priority. The Democrats are offering universal health care. that will lead to a single payer system liek Canada/EU. Why would Americans want to have a single payer Canada/Eu system of health care once one of the Democrats puts it in place? Simple, they would rather ask the United States Goverment to spend a couple hundred thousand dollars to keep them alive, compared to asking an insurance company to spend 200K of THEIR money to keep you alive. Besides once they decline, how much fight do you realy have in you to sue? Your DIEING. A few delays in court and you can't continue or complain. The private insurance companys have rigged the game. Once they deny your claim, then you become a nail that disease/death hammers down for them.

Continuing with the private insurance debacle will only insure that the Republican party is kept out of power until all the baby boomers die. 40+years from now.

I am a long-time supply sider having had the privilege of being a student of Art Laffer's during his time at USC. I am also a former

Navy pilot, Vietnam Vet, and a lifelong supporter of Ronald Reagan.

I cast my first vote for Reagan for governor in 1968. I have NEVER failed to cast a vote since that day, but I am seriously contemplating

staying home in November if McCain is the Republican nominee. The

only thing that could possibly induce me to vote for him is the potential

damage to the Supreme Court due to a Democrat presidency.

How sad that the Reagan Revolution has come to this.

I'll vote for Hillary before McCain. Because it actually makes more sense. When Comrade McCain proposes some crazy bill - many Republican senators will line up behind him simply because he has an R behind his name. If Hillary proposes the same crazy bill those same senators will filabuster.

Vote Conservative, Vote Hillary ... that is the pragmatic thing to do.

Not for "Profit" McCain and his commie comments during the last debate will never ever get my vote

Johnny Mac on stage at the Reagan Library continuing to lie about Mitt's 'Timetable' for Iraq should be enough for any sane human to decide of what moral fiber Mac is comprised. An outright liar, just like his friends, all of the liberals...and that includes Mac's 'ordained' vote splitter, Huck! It bothers me that folks are still supporting a man who lie's to them, right to their faces on national TV.

Mac almost jumped ship to become a Dem. I think he got with his powerful Liberal buddies a few years ago and decided to remain a Repub so he could rip the very fabric of the GOP to fracture the party for the Dems to take the general in 2008. It seems to be working. If McCain is nominated, I will leave the GOP never to return. Maybe I'll go over to the Constitution Party... as we continue our march towards becoming a third world s@!&hole!!!!!

Is this the way Republicans have acted in past elections? If I can't have my man running, I won't vote or I will vote for a Dem. (My God, what an evil idea). I think some conservatives are the mirror image of MoveOn.org and Howard Dean. They are so one issue and rigid that they cannot be team players. McCain is not my choice but I am Republican and I feel that my party has been hijacked by these one issue idealogs.

What happened to the "big tent" idea? or is that just some similar talk to Dem ideas of voter constituency? Time to compromise and pull the wagon together. Is there no room for fiscal conservatives and moderate social thinking people? Those conservatives who will not vote are not supporting our country. The dems will ruin everything that Reagan worked for and obama banana may bring us to the brink of war quicker that anything Bush could dream up. Are you going to put the country first or will you verify the Dems assertions that we are racist, bigoted, and narrow minded. If not, I do question your patriotism.

McCain is no maverick, he is erratic. There is a difference.

Voting for McCain may have a short term advantage of holding the White House, at the long term cost of muddling the direction in which the country needs to go. The advantage of electing either Clinton or Obama will be to seriously damage the economy, resulting in a long term innoculation of the polity against Socialism. Think Carter Catastrophe redux.

None of the alternatives are attractive.

Problems, decisions, problems, decisions.

Romney's record

Romney has spent almost $100 million of his own money to get a job that only pays $450k/year.

Romney was filmed participating in a Pro-Choice Planned Parenthood fundraiser in 1994 - and has made many pro-choice comments in the past.

As a candidate for office in Massachusetts, Romney claimed to hold liberal or moderate views on abortion.

Romney has been a strong supporter of gun control legislation and enforcement, backing the Brady Bill, a five-day waiting period on gun sales, and a ban on certain assault weapons, and he still backs the ban on assault weapons.

Romney lobbied for a state constitutional amendment that would allow civil unions between homosexuals.

Romney's lawn care company had illegal aliens working at his private residence for nearly a decade and Romney had them fired after the fact was revealed to him during his current campaign for President.

Mitt is a man of accomplishment

Mitt Romney has been an unqualified success in all that he has done. We need a man of success and leadership to lead our country. I highly recommend the book "Turnaround" which Mitt wrote after the Salt Lake Olympics. He took on a nightmare scenario in these Olympics, and by bringing in smart people to his team, incredible hard work, and an extremely well designed and executed strategy, the Olympics turned out to be the best ever. It is an great example of his skill set. I met Mitt 30 years ago when I interviewed for a job at his firm. He so impressed me that I remembered who he was all these years. (I can't name anyone else I interviewed with!) The only reason he is running for president is that he believes he has a skill set that could greatly benefit our country. I think he is the most qualified candidate we have had for President in many years. I am most definitely supporting him 100%.
