On the "No Recession" side there continues to be a strong suggestion, based on the drawdown of short-term credit (evidenced by increasing yield spread) that growth is picking up again. Given the largely political pressure on the Fed to lower the target rate, and the strong gains in productivity (a real measure of health in the economy), the economy may indeed surprise everyone, which is usually how it happens.
