Small Town in Eastern Oregon

Each community must start being responsible for doing its part in energy conservation and if possible, energy generation. The Town of Lakeview, in Lake County, Oregon was hard hit with the decline of the timber industry at the end of the last century, loosing hundreds of jobs as their sawmills closed. Today they have boot-straped themselves back into the game with a can-do attitude and a focus on attracting economic development and new people with their innovative "Energy Pioneer" program based on using Renewable Energy from their abundant Geothermal, Solar, Biomass and Wind resources.
