Congress Eyes Big Oil and Big Investors

STRIKE NOW and SHUT ALL OF THEM UP!

What are you waiting on? Shut all of them up and STRIKE. You pay union dues? Let the food rot, stop delivering goods and services and let's see how many idiots change their tune. Wall Street can't survive without a hot biscut and a cup of coffee. HIT THEM WHERE IT HURTS AND STOP TALKING ABOUT IT!

Truckers Too Little Too Late

What is taking all the truckers so long to pull over and stop! Don't move any goods till the price drops below two dollars a gallon! Maybe the truckers haven't suffered enough! Maybe they need someone to be shooting at them! Maybe they need diesel stations blown up! They and others will pay! This has gone on too long! So much for pricing by demand! Blow The Gas Stations up! Nobody listened to Greenspan, when he said watch the fuel prices! We are going to go from a recession to the greatest depression this country has ever seen! You will see some of the worse prices in the next couple of years if the prices drop! Oil, Auto, and Airline industries need to pay with their lives! Maybe the truckers too!

The funniest part about what you just wrote is that the "Price By Demand" is what gets all people to pull over and stop. Basic Economics, when the price rises to the point you won't or can't pay it, then supply meets demand and the equilibrium price is achieved.

The problem here is you are cranky about paying the equilibrium price.

By the truckers getting off the road, maybe you can drop the price for the rest of us, who will not be getting off the road. Thanks for taking one for the team.

Whiners

Please pardon my lack of sympathy for the truckers. What you have here is a slowing economy and the services of the truckers aren't needed to the extent they once were. Coupled with deregulation that, not coincidently, created an industry where independent truckers had previously been shut out. So now, it's not fuel prices that are killing you, it's competition. BOO HOO! The appropriate thing to do now is what Ice cream shops, restaurants, auto-body shops and dry cleaners do when there isn't enough business. You go out of business. I am supposed to cry for truckers? Where all the kings horses and all the kings men when my little software company falls on hard times? If you can't raise your prices, and you can't make a living, do the economy (and for that matter) a favor and go out of business. That will leave room for better businessmen with better business sense to prosper.
