Getting 'Financially Naked' in Relationships

Back to blog

Owner of property

Sharon: We have been married for 40 years, and we have never had an argument about finances. Although I am financially savvy, know so much about investments, which I have made for the family, and insurance and mutual funds which I take care of, we have many automatic payments for mortgages from a variety of sources, that my husband takes care of, and I have no idea how he does it, and if anything happens to him, I'm sunk! I don't even know what we owe, as I am too busy focussing on our grandkids and our house that we just built! And I've never been involved with the tax returns except to sign them. Gosh-I am an 18th century wife! Your article has prompted me to set a date with my husband to learn the ropes!

I guess I'd better figure it all out soon!
