Suze Orman: President Bush Owes Us Money

Back to blog

blame congress, not bush!

Bush didn't tell fannie and freddie to give ARMs to people who couldn't ever pay the higher payments when they cam due. AIG foolishly insured them and had to pay up, when they didn't have the cash reserves to pay the bills...All of this is stuff that you preach against day and night, yet, the one person who wasn't even involved in it is whom you choose to blame???

You need to check your head.

X-PRESIDENT BUSH

I never liked George Bush. I couldn't stand that grin on his face. I'm sure our allies couldn't either. Seems to me when things got tough he let everyone else run the country. HE LOST SELF RESPECT A LONG TIME AGO. We the American people allowed this man to run us into the ground. LEARN A LESSON FROM THIS!!! This starts with our Congressman, Mayors, Senators, etc. When they don't measure up to our expectations, we MUST vote them out of office--before they get powerful enough to run for President.

I'm not defending George Bush. He is the worst President we ever had.

Bush

I appreciate what Suze has to say and I can see she's really upset, when she's calmed down do you think she could call the white house and ask Obama not to break open my grandkids piggy banks to pay for all the spending that is going on.

Suze's comments

Suze does a wonderful job helping millions with finances and I believe she has a genuine, sincere interest in the people she tries to reach. HOWEVER, she really should recognize the fact that a great majority of people who listen to her and admire her are REPUBLICANS and don't want to hear this sort of soap box venting. Did President Bush do everything right? No...Did Bill Clinton? No... Will President Obama?? No -- in fact, he's doing the very thing Suze preaches against - Running up HUGE debts!!

Bush -The unmtigated disaster to hit the mankind

George Bush has been an unmitigated disaster to hit the mankind in recent memory. This worst President who has wrecked every thing he has touched should definitely be made accountable for his crimes and sins against humanity and the American people. This man was a collaborator with the wall street robbers who have brought down our entire financial system and walked away with billions perhaps trillions without even a scratch. He collaborated with OIL barons and speculators and brought down our auto industry with 5 dollar per gallon gas. I think as Senator Grassley has said ...He should take a deep bow before the nation, hand over his entire family's wealth and and say how ashamed and sorry he is for screwing up this great country.

Oh, and by the way, Tim Geitner actually DOES owe us all money. The money that the IMF gave him for the specific purpose of paying his taxes. Did he forward it on to the IRS?

Nope. He still underpaid two years worth of taxes and the idiot Congress as well as the President himself all high-fived each other as a known tax cheat to the reins of the Internal Revenue Service

Genius

Suze is so intelligent. I consult her on all my financial matters.

I also consult Dr. Phil on marital issues.

Weight loss advice...Oprah.

For tax issues, you gotta get Tim Geitner.

NCAA brackets, the Prez has some spare time for that.

Seriously, Suze, people will find you so much more credible if you would just learn to spell your first name.

Senate and Congress in Democrats hands for past four / two years

Remember that the senate and house have being in democratic hands for the past four (house) and two years (senate) blocking any attempts the Bush admin had at doing any reform. Why not ask Senator Christopher Dodd, head of the banking committee for the past four years, who told the Bush admin when it was trying to have the senate make some refoms on Fannie Mae that "there was no problem there" or how about asking Congressmen Barnie Frank, chairman of the Financial Services Committee for the last two Bush years. Both are Democrats.
