Why Jewelry Makes a Bad Gift

Even as someone who loves jewelry, I get annoyed by those diamond ads that take over the airwaves this time of year. This video says it best.

The only time I got diamonds was when my ex had cheated. Slowly, I grew a serious distaste for diamonds and him.

Totally agree with you, Kimberly - those diamond ads drive me nuts. Some of the worst ones always used to spring up in the El station in O'Hare airport (of all places). They'd pretty explicitly suggest that if a man buys his wife a big enough diamond, he can get away with being a crappy husband in all other respects. How dumb do they think we are?
