Best Antidotes to Stress

The best antidotes to stress that I have found are laughter and Iyengar yoga, which I have practiced for over 10 years. I believe the great strengths of Iyengar Yoga are that the teachers are very highly trained and tested, and that BKS Iyengar devoted a lot of his time, expertise and genius to developing the therapeutic use of yoga for various physical and mental ailments. I have used Iyengar yoga for stress relief, and also to heal a bad back.

interesting books

Hello,

I am a didabled nurse and no money to buy birthday and christmas gifts

But I value great books to my grandchildren. I see to it that they are

appropriate books for their ages and academics, also clothes sizes a bit larger for growth. By ordering paperback books and hunting for bargains/sweeptakes raffles and on sale items.

I make sure i coolect them before Christmas.

Way to go me-frugal grandma.

Leave "things" on the shelf

My wife and I have a long standing rule: No "things", just visits.

Our friends and relations gift of a little of their time means far more than any "thing" that if we needed or wanted it, we would have already made arrangements to obtain it.

It releives them of the dreaded pressure of what to get mom or grandmother when they know what to get their own friends or family.

And it releives us of trying to be genuine in accepting "things" that we don't want or need and showing our appreciation for them.

Layaway - the new credit

A recent article highlighted Kmart's layaway program that is being advertised. This is being touted as the new credit program so that people can spend within their means. So much must be put down at purchase time and the items must be paid off within a certain amount of time. Back to the future for budget-minded people.
