How Much Do Bloggers Make?

Back to blog

Motivated

Good to know that some people actually make decent money on blogging. Well, I also have a blog myself to talk about the daily stuff going on inside of a cubicle. It's nothing fancy, but everything's straight from my everyday life, no BS, no made-up stuff, just life in the cubicle :) Check it out at www.cubicletimes.com :)

Thanks for the info!

Just started my blog, not doing it for money just for fun and for others around the world to enjoy too. It's just about music from all over the world right now.

If you are devoted to writing

You are correct we should not blog for money only. That is just the benefit you get, only when you are a successful blogger. Struggle is required for becoming a successful blogger.

I'm beginner, your site will help me to become a good blogger.

Write because you love it!!

If you write for the love of writing, the rest will follow. Just be prepared to put in a lot of time and effort to find a large audience. If you enjoy writing on your blog you won't mind the hours and it will be reflected in your material.

Good Luck!

say thank you and click on an ad

When I visit blog's or sites, I always click on at least 1 ad and sometimes two ads as a way of saying 'thank you' for your blog/website effort. If everyone would do that soon the money would be rolling in.

More ads

for HIB of TX making .28 on his blog -- perhaps if you were running more than 1 little tiny square box single ad, you might make more.

Making money

I too run a blog and websites. I run in the mid 5's for the year with a few sites using Yahoo ads also. Finding inexpensive hosting and treating this as a part time job is what makes it a success. You get out of it what effort you put into it.

Yahoo publisher

Blog and websites - I have 125 of them - are my part time 2nd job. I make around $25K a year from the Yahoo ads that run on them. I spend about 4 hours a day doing this. My goal is to improve my sites to where I get into 6 figures a year and then maybe 7 figures. It takes a lot of effort and work to do this, but it gives me a lot of extra money and financial freedom. While my websites are not the best, they do the job. Once I actually start improving and SEO'ng them the results should be better. Using inexpensive webhost service of Dreamhost.com dropped my total hosting costs to $100 per year for all the sites together, the domain names cost around $8 each, so the actual "business" costs of around $1200 a year plus my time are vitually nothing compared to the income produced. It has taken me 6 years to get this far, but things are going well and I do not fear this economy any more. I put 25% of the monthly earnings into Dividend stocks like Sherwin-Williams (shw) and Alteria (mo) to help generate future income. For anyone thinking of doing this, I say go for it!
