Is the New Double Eagle Coin a Good Buy?

A good investment

These new Double Eagle Ultra High RElief gold coins will go up in price considerably, believe it. They will be highly valued in just a few short years, and no telling how valuable they will be many decades from now.

Double eagles

Some things to consider when buying gold.

It has been called God's money because only God can make it.

It cannot be destroyed.

It is nobody's liability.

But if you do decide to buy some, buy American!

BUY AS MANY AS YOU CAN..Gold will hit $2,000.00/oz.

Gold has out performed every mutual fund, college saving plan and money market for the past 10 years. I invest around 25% of all of my investments in gold. It is by far the safest hedge against a war-torn, inflation driven world where fiat currencies and falling dollars are all too common. With the purchase power of the USD$ down over 60% since 2002 and the DOW down close to 4,000 points over the last 5-6 months I am glad I bought gold. I plan on buying probably several of these. Gold is supported by 65 centuries of economic history, whereas our fiat based, "floating dollar" system has existed since 1974. Hmmmmm...let me see, who to trust?

A Fresh(ish) Perspective

Fairly fresh out of college myself, I can say that I would much rather have had money invested to pay for college than a coin--no matter how beautiful! If my grandfather would have given me a coin as a gift while I was entering or in college, I would have appreciated his gesture, but it would have been of little practical value to me and been put away under a bed somewhere as a sentimental keepsake. Or I would have almost immediately traded it for it's value so I could pay for college expenses.

2009 Ultra-High Relief St. Gaudens Gold Coin.

Do any coin dealers beside U.S. Mint sells 2009 Ultra-High Relief St. Gaudens Gold Coins? I hope Austin Rare Coins might sell this 2009 Ultra-High Relief St. Gaudens Gold Coins. By any case this 2009 Ultra-High Relief $20 St. Gaudens Gold Coins will be excellent collector's item!

Maximise your 529

A great way to increase assets in a college savings account is by registering it with Freshman Fund (www.freshmanfund.com).

It's like a registry for college savings. Parents go to the site, attach their 529, create a public profile and email friends and family a link where they can contribute directly into the child's 529 account in lieu of or in addition to the usual birthday/holiday gifts. Great for parents and great for gift givers and it's environmentally friendly gifting.

DISCLOSURE: I’m the founder of Freshman Fund (www.freshmanfund.com). I was at my niece’s birthday party watching her tear through a pile of gifts taller than she was. At the end of the melee my gift was tossed aside into a pile of other forgotten gifts. I spent a-lot of time and money selecting her gift and I though it was a waste. I told her parents that from now on I was just going to contribute to her college savings. I asked them what website to go to in order to that and none existed. So I started Freshman Fund (www.freshmanfund.com).
