Gas Prices

Denise I agree with you 100% finally someone who is thinking rationally.I guess its always easier to put the blame on Bush .But you are exactly right it is Congress who is in control of this and if they would just let us drill we would be better off .I think they prefer for us to have to rely on other countries for oil that is ashame!!!!!

People need to stop blaming Bush for the gas prices. He can't do anything without Congress and they are the ones who don't want us drilling for oil on our own land, therefore we are dependent on the other countries so we have to pay the price. Bush is a wonderful president and if Congress would quit taking vacations, giving themselves pay raises and listen to our president our country wouldn't have the problems we are having now!

Better searches for carpool websites

A web search for a carpool site can be confusing. First figure out which of these three types of carpools you're looking for:

* Work commute carpooling. Often these are done best by gov't subsidized programs like 511.org in the San Francisco area -- definitely use the region.

* Travel between cities. http://www.erideshare.com which reads old-standby Craigslist http://www.craigslist.org is a favorite (and does a good job of dividing commutes, travelers, and also coordinates errands). http://GoLoco.org is one of the next-generation sites with Facebook integration

* Events. Anyone planning an event can coordinate carpooling for their guests/attendees, from just reminding your friends to try to carpool when planning a party, or using Evite's carpool planner, or a carpool coordinator like http://www.spaceshare.com for very large events.

Save Gas

We need to move away from gas running our machines. There is too many technologies that do a better job. In meantime, I converted my gas guzzler into a hybrid which has doubled my MPG. http://www.waterpetrolcar.com

Saving big bucks at the pumps

I bought a Honda scooter. It gets about 80 miles to a gallon

of gas. I live about 4 miles from work so I drive it back and

forth each day. I am a school principal and my college age

daughter thought it was stupid for a principal to go back and

forth to school on a scooter. I think it makes me look pretty

smart. Every time the cost of gas goes up, I look smarter!

I save my mini-van for rainy days or major grocery shopping.

It costs $60 to fill my mini-van and $6.50 to fill my scooter.

You do the math. Which would you rather spend?
