eBay failure

I wonder if eBay is headed by a foreigner...maybe from china? That would explain the mystery

paypal and its ways.

whenever I pay for something on Paypal, whenever possible I pay with my credit card, but doing so, I have to deal with: for starters, the option to change to credit card is VERY SMALL and HIDEN, once you find the option, THEN, you still have to go several prompts, asking you if your REALLY want to use your credit card, it is only THEN, after breaking all these obstacles, your are able to utilize your credit card........ mmmmmmmmmmmh.

just for though.

starting an ebay store....well, maybe not!

i was thinking of starting an ebay store....well, maybe not! ....after all that ive heard and read thus far in these recent days its seems that if im going to put in the hard work and dedication to get a store up and running i at least want to have a chance of being treated fairly and have my contribution to the pot to be appreciated...i guess i might as well be a pioneer for another site!.....common! like things arent difficult enough already.

EBay Feedback Change

I just retired from 30 years in the Federal Government. After reading the entire "workshop" on DSRs (Detailed Seller Ratings) http://forums.ebay.com/db2/thread.jspa?threadID=2000509113&start=0 I was so disgusted with the champion of the DSR's! There was no information given, no actual suggestions given except that each and every seller should not only hire a student or students to translate their auctions into other languages and list on other sites, and to purchase a "call center" so that their buyers can contact them whenever. Unbelievable. I am not a Sears (and eBay should be very happy as Sears has an absolutely TERRIBLE DSR on eBay. I do not. The snotty attitude of the person from the DSR company was incredible. No answers, nothing - just "well, you better get used to it". Typical of eBay. Don't even get me started on PayPal! Holding $ for 21 days AND you as the seller MUST ship the item. HA - Great joke!

The human element

Thank you for recognizing that this is an ongoing story! Please stay on it.

Recently, EBay instituted a series of changes that are going to severely hurt many hundreds of thousands of small sellers.

Many of these sellers are the very people who are so hard hit by our current economic woes. They are single moms trying to make ends meet. They are retired and disabled folks who have been managing to make a little money on eBay. They are our veterans that this country can’t seem to keep its promises to.

They are also people who rely on eBay for their entire income and people who have started small businesses using eBay as a sales outlet.

These small mom’n’pop sellers, as well as a huge number of other eBay sellers of every size and from several countries have just completed a very successful 1-week boycott, dropping eBay’ listing count by a whopping 13 percent during the strike week! EBay’s stock is already shaky, and this uproar has not helped.

These sellers are now calling for another and this time open-ended boycott beginning May 1. This planned boycott is already being supported by a huge number of sellers and buyers, who are simply continuing to boycott eBay.

They feel that is their only hope of keeping eBay from putting them out of business. Sadly, it looks like eBay is destroying itself in the process. The very sellers who built eBay are moving to other venues where they feel welcome and valued as customers. They are taking what eBay refers to as IT with them.

Ebay Debate

If you think the boycott was solely over the increase in fees you're sadly mistaken. The boycott was more over the loss of sellers' ability to give negative feedback to bad buyers, the 21 day hold that will be imposed by Paypal on seller's money if they have less than 100 feedbacks AND the coming of Best Match where powersellers and high volume sellers will bury the small seller! Get to the nitty gritty or don't bother writing these articles!!!! The small seller and some powersellers have been royally shafted and this isn't the end of it...its just the beginning! If ebay is thinking this will simply blow over...they're dead wrong! More and more sellers will become disenchanted and go elsewhere as they actually experience these changes.

Distusted 10 year seller on Ebay!

I Can Only Comment SOOO Much!

I just want to say as a former seller and buyer on ebay ("cmccune04") I am completely disatisified with the way and others have been treated.

Ebay is a deceptive corporation! and as far as Paypal goes they are a complete scam. They will litterly take your money and hold it against your will while they make incredible interest on the money while your left paying shipping fees or purchases out of pocket or by other uneccesary means! You wouldn't understand unless it has happened to you!

We won't even get into customer service because it is non existent.

The whole monopoly of ebay and paypal needs to be checked out legally. In wich they now are. We shall wait and see what happens.

That's all I have to say,

CMCCUNE04

Ebay is like Mr. Heeney on Green Acres...

no offense to Mr. Heeney... at least he had some style. Ebay keeps taking "WE HAVE NO CLASS OR INTEGRITY WHEN IT COMES TO GETTIN' THEM NICKELS" to lower levels.

The real head scratcher is they look down their noses at what they call the seller's "YARD SALE" and fail to see what "IT" is that is the attraction... EBAY, here's a freebie... "IT's" the items you CAN'T GET at WALMART or BEST BUY.

You wouldn't know the CEO and head cheeses went to Ivy League colleges. They are acting like miserly tyrants and offer not an iota of improvement or innovation for their five cents off listings, dollars added to the back end offered up as a big prize... dolts that we are.

One think missing this go round though... they're not showing us the door... they're telling us to knock off the boycott and knuckle down to make some $$$ - that's telling. So will the first quarter 2008 earnings report.

Aw shucks... here's another freebie Ebay... You made a bunch more money when you weren't greedy. Everybody made money. Ebay, the investors, the sellers and the buyers were happy too. Think about IT.

Ebay missed the Mark!!

As an ebay Seller, I have chosen not to use their services ever again..

They are manipulative and have lied to me for the last time.

When they brought out the "new" fee decrease, it was an increase that could cost the seller 67% more on the ending fees of a sale...

It's not practical to list there anymore, not when there are so many wonderful sites that give FREE listing, some even have no ending fees at all!!

Do that math...

And that new feedback system is put there, not to make the buyers experience better, but to set the Seller up for failure so that Ebay can gouge them more in the end... Possibly holding sales monies for 21 days!! NOT GONNA HAPPEN TO ME!! That is of course unless you are the winning bidder on my new listing: 150220281451 Check it out!! How to get it FREE on Ebay!!

BOYCOTT EBAY FOREVER!!
