Geography
Carrollton is located in north central Texas, within the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex.
Cultural Attractions
The city boasts the Repertory Dance Theatre of Texas, the Carrollton Wind Symphony, and the A.W. Perry Homestead Museum, which offers a look at life during the turn of the 20th century in north central Texas.
Recreation
Besides containing more than 1,200 acres of park land, Carrollton also has the Elm Fork Nature Preserve.
Historical
Early industries for the city include a grain mill, and cotton and brick manufacturing.

Carrollton is the only foreign trade zone in north Dallas, and its top employers include Carrollton/Farmers Branch Independent School District, Halliburton Energy Services, and ST Microelectronics Semiconductors.
