Geography
This eastern Massachusetts city is in Middlesex County, about miles west of Boston.

Marlborough is just a few miles from downhill and cross-country ski areas, many of which are open in summer for hiking, fishing, and boating.
Historical
The town was originally intended to be called Whipsuppnicke, but it was incorporated in 1660 as Marlborow (later changed to Marlborough).
