Climate
Temperatures are seasonal and a touch cooler than the national average. Autumn tends to be rainy, and expect heavy snows in the winter.
Geography
Danvers is in Essex County, in the North Shore area of Massachusetts. About 20 miles northeast of Boston, it’s still considered part of that metropolitan region.
Recreation
Danvers lies at the confluence of four rivers, and the waterfront is a center of recreational activity. Boaters are only 30 minutes from the Atlantic at Danvers’s public and private marinas.
Historical
Prior to its 1757 incorporation, Danvers was known as Salem Village--site of the witch trials of 1692. A Witchcraft Victims’ Memorial now stands in Danvers to commemorate those who died during the ensuing hysteria.
