Burlington’s temperatures are slightly cooler than the national average, with more wind and more snow in the winter months.
Geography
The town is at the junction of the Boston-Merrimac corridor, on the watersheds of the Ipswich, Shawsheen, and Mystic rivers.

Historical
Following the opening of Route 128, the town had a population growth higher than any other in the state--in one five-year period, Burlington’s population tripled.
Economy
Though now suburban industrial, Burlington was once entirely agricultural, its growth stifled by limited transportation until the development of Route 128.
