Geography
The scenic town, at the crossroads of Route I-93 and Route 3, has numerous lakes and ponds.
Cultural Attractions
South Shore Plaza, one of New England’s largest shopping malls, is located in Braintree.
Recreation
Braintree has the MDC Blue Hills Reservation trail system, a public golf course, Smith Beach and Sunset Lake, a swimming and fishing spot that allows nonmotorized boats only. In the summer, there is a lakeside concert series.
Historical
Braintree is the birthplace of John Adams, John Quincy Adams, and John Hancock.
