Geography
Elmhurst is west of Chicago in northeastern Illinois.
Cultural Attractions
The city is home to the Theatre Historical Society of America, the only U.S. organization that records and preserves the architectural, social, and cultural history of American theatres. The society operates two museums related to the cause.
Recreation
Elmhurst boasts 29 parks, the 37-mile Prairie Path, and the Great Western Prairie Path, a living museum of plants and animals.
Historical
Elmhurst College was founded by German immigrants in 1871, the same year as the Great Chicago Fire.
