Geography
The city's name comes from the Temple oranges that were grown here and the terraced terrain characteristic of the city.
Cultural Attractions
Just south of Temple Terrace, the Tampa Museum of Art has contemporary exhibits as well as a distinguished collection of Greek and Roman antiques.
Recreation
The Hillsborough River, which winds throughout the community, is popular for fishing, kayaking, and boating.
Historical
The first scheduled flight between Hillsborough County and Pinellas County was made by Tony Jannus in 1941; he could take only one passenger at a time and charged $5 for a ticket.
Fun Fact
The Rev. Billy Graham had a deep religious experience on the 18th hole of the Temple Terrace Golf and Country Club golf course.
