Geography
Goleta is right on the California coast, northwest of Los Angeles and just west of Santa Barbara.
Cultural Attractions
The town hosts the California Lemon Festival, celebrating Goleta's prized fruit, which flourished even during the Depression.
Recreation
In addition to beach access and parks, Goleta boasts the Sterling Preserve/Ellwood Mesa, home to a variety of flora and fauna, as well as some 60,000 migratory butterflies.
Historical
Goleta was the home of the seafaring and house-building Chumash or Canalino people for thousands of years.
