Historical
In the early 1900s, locals became perturbed with northern neighbors in Berkeley using their land as a dumping ground. A group of women, armed with two shotguns and a rifle, decided to take action. Albany was born.

Solano Avenue, the city’s “Main Street,” is a regional attraction for shoppers and restaurant goers.
