Climate
Phoenix offers an arid climate, with very hot summers and temperate winters.
Geography
Phoenix is located along the Salt River Valley, or "Valley of the Sun," in the northern part of the Sonoran Desert.

Phoenix was originally called Pumpkinville due to the large pumpkins that flourished in fields along the canals.
