Health Benefits Are Real, But Be Careful...

As an expert on the traditional Mediterranean diet, I have been an advocate of judicious wine consumption for years. Even when the habit is started in middle age, alcohol (especially red wine) reduces the incidence of heart attack and stroke.

For list of alcohol adverse affects and contra-indications to drinking, please see this post at my healthy lifestyle blog:

Americas Love Of Wine

Here in Oregon, we are seeing the "under 30's" taking an active interest in wine and helping the economy by still purchasing mid range ($25-$40)bottles. They are also eager to learn how to drink it correctly so as to get the total enjoyment and value out of it, thus keeping my business, A Nose For Wine, educational wine tours booked.

Us baby boomers are now looking for more value pricing and searching for more "second labels" as is beginning to happen here in our state.

Just started Tylers book...can't put it down.

Glass in hand..I read on.

Loire is not a varietal.

As for the economy, the sales reps tell me that wine drinkers are still buying, they're just drinking at home instead of at restaurants.
