Profile
Prague, Czech Republic (large map)
Na Homolce Hospital was built between 1984 and 1989 as a medical facility for top Communist functionaries. At that time, it was known as the State Institute of National Health and more commonly referred to as Sanopz. It opened in 1989 as a luxury facility with outpatient and rehabilitation units and wards in internal medicine, cardiology, and neurology. It was later opened to the general public under the new name of Na Homolce Hospital (from the Homolka hill on which it stands). A full range of services is available. Specialties are grouped into three priority clinical programscardiovascular, neurology, and general medical care. The hospital was JCI-accredited in June 2005. Na Homolce has 357 beds; its physicians and surgeons treat nearly 18,000 inpatients, perform more than 14,000 surgeries, and examine more than 1 million outpatients annually.
