Profile
Istanbul, Turkey (large map)
Memorial Hospital was the first JCI-accredited healthcare institution in Turkey and is a member of the American Hospital Association. The 200-bed hospital opened in 2000 and has a staff of 150 physicians, many of them trained in the U.S. or Europe. Most speak fluent English. In international healthcare, the hospital focuses on cardiovascular surgery, IVF, and organ transplantation. In 2004, the Turkish Ministry of Health licensed Memorial as the first private hospital to carry out organ transplantation (kidney and liver). Memorial's IVF Center generated the first IVF pregnancy via microinjection in Turkey. It is also the first center in Turkey with an in-house genetics lab to carry out genetic inspections and resolve genetic issues prior to fertilization.
