Campaign 2008
Mitt Romney
The son of a three-term Michigan governor, Mitt Romney already knew the ups and downs of politics when he ran for the Senate in 1994 after a successful career as a venture capitalist. He failed to unseat Sen. Ted Kennedy but went on to win Massachusetts’s gubernatorial election in 2002. Romney holds degrees from Brigham Young University, Harvard Business School, and Harvard Law School. He was president and CEO of the Salt Lake Organizing Committee and revived the Olympic Games’s finances in 2002.
