Paying for College

Grad School Grants by Field

Focusing on certain fields will increase your chances of getting aid.

Posted March 21, 2008

Most terminal master's programs and professional degrees offer very little free money. But students who focus on the most in-demand fields have a very good chance of getting at least some of their tuition covered.

How to find scholarships available to students in your specialty:

  1. Call your department head or university financial aid office for advice on how to find aid.
  2. Check with professional and trade associations in your field. They often maintain lists of scholarships and fellowships.
  3. Check on general scholarship search lists and engines.
