UWM’s online degrees are offered through its Desire2Learn learning management system, which uses secure and unique student IDs and passwords, security mechanisms that meet the policy requirements of our accreditor, the Higher Learning Commission of State Schools and Colleges. Additionally, program advisors and instructors work closely with students and become familiar with their work through the course of frequent interaction in the LMS and though synchronous advising sessions by phone or Skype. UWM’s online programs follow a best practices formative assessment approach, entailing frequent, low-stakes assessment to help ensure academic integrity.
