Before admittance to a program, SNC collects a significant amount of personally identifiable information in order to verify students’ identity. Students use a secure username and password in order to log in to the online platform. The pedagogy in online courses does not rely on examinations for large percentages of student-performance assessment. Student grading in online courses is balanced between course discussions, peer-to-peer feedback, written work focused on the application of course content, and regular quizzes. The absence of single-performance, high-stakes testing in SNC’s courses decreases the likelihood that students could benefit from sharing the login information with someone expected to perform on their behalf. |
