Bachelor's Program Overview

Columbia College began as a Christian women's college in 1851. While it is now a nonsectarian institution, it is still affiliated with the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). More than 800 courses are offered online and students can also complete courses at one of Columbia College's more than 30 physical locations, about 15 of which are located on military bases, including one in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.

About a dozen online bachelor's degree programs are offered at the school in fields such as business administration and management, psychology, criminal justice, accounting and computer information systems. Courses have a maximum of 25 students, and the average online teaching experience of instructors is seven years. Online courses are offered in five eight-week sessions per year and begin in January, March, June, August and October. Students may take no more than six credit hours per session.

Course work in Columbia College's online classes includes discussion posts and research papers. Online students have access to 24/7 technology support, academic advising and online library materials. The school is regionally accredited by The Higher Learning Commission, a member of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.

Columbia College, a private institution, has been offering online bachelor's degree programs since 2000-2001. All of the online classes are recorded and archived, so students can access lecture material at their own convenience. When applying for the online programs at Columbia College, it's important to note that the deadline is rolling.
