This article has great tips for being a student online. I will definitely be using some of them to minimize the challenges I believe I will be facing.

The tips in the article were great. When I was taking online classes through CTC I did just that. Now my schedule is more difficult. I work 12 hour shifts. Sometimes 9AM to 9PM or vise versa. I just feel you need to be and stay dedicated to your studies. Remember this is for your future and well being. Keep that in mind when school becomes at times overwhelming.

you really hit home when you made the comment about "not wanting to ask for help." I am the world's worse at that. Guess I don't want to appear less educated than another but from now on I will try and open up and ask for help when needed. All of your suggestions are great. Thanks for the tips.

This is really great for someone who does not have the knowlege to manage their time. It gives people the basics on time management. From making time for your homework that is due to checking in everyday to ensure that you do not fall behind, or did not miss anything.

That was very helpful for me, and I do feel that I can discipline my self as well, but that is great point.

I am making a plan. I keep appointments and now dealines on my calender. I do check it daily. I don't own many eletronic devices, but a wall calender works better for me, I think. I've been using that for years. I have two, one in the living room and one in the kitchen. My therapist is strong calender therapy. That's what she called it Calender Therapy. Now, on looking ahead -- sure I can, but I try to take things a minute at a time. I have the problem of focusing. I hope I can teach myself to focus without the help of medication. Next, I am definitely speaking up, "Hold on, wait for me." I'll do the best I can. That all I can do.

Time Management practices within a job or a task is a practical measure to complete it in a timely manner. The biggest problem I have is making my education a priority. With many outside distractions and other priorities, getting started is the hardest thing. Establishing a routine through time management is my ultimate challenge.

Great post and a little eye opening. This is not my first time taking an online course, I am pretty sure I had an idea of what I was doing. But with that saying just that I realize that I really wasn't following up on two of the 4 best practices... Eye opening for me!
