Until the "Online Education" stigma is gone, I wouldn't waste my money. Having students take 100% of exams in class will help the online schools with the perception problem. This way working students can have the flexibility of taking instruction on their time while having accountability. No GMAT or AACSB would be a flag for me.

I find online education to be very valuable. I am not an older student, i am 23 finishing my bachelors degree. I choose online so i could start my family and start work. Well i have done both while pursuing a degree, with two children i am able to stay home with them, earn an online degree, and work from home for a CPA firm as a corporate accountant. One of the best skills online schooling has taught is not only time management but how to be self taught. They give your the resources and guidance and are always available. In the end though you are not listening to lectors but you are lecturing yourself by reading, memorizing, discussions and etc. Everyone learns from each other. I love online education as i have learned so much. I highly recommend it. However, it is certainly not for everyone so it is important to evaluate whether or not it is a good fit for you.

When first looking at online graduate MBAs, I was concerned about the negative stories I heard about "for profit" online universities. But, I was able to find credible universities (w/ real campuses) that offerred great online graduate programs--which required the same entrance requirements and class work from an online student as it did with traditional students. I'm very pleased with my decision to pursue an online graduate degree. It's provided flexibility and an engaging learning environment.

I am very happy to see positive information about online education. I have experience attending an online education and I will say in the beginning it was difficult. You have to learn how to manage your time and the participation in all of the classes is a difinite requirement and twice the work. However, you will find out that after you have accomplished that degree. It was a challenge and a important effort in your life. I classify my online experience as a better education for me then attending a campus environment

You know, at first I ruled not being physically on campus as a downside of online education. Sure, it'd be good to meet people in person, but it may actually be more useful for employers to hire someone who has had experience collaborating online, than someone who has always been in the classroom.

It's good to see that the online education forum is opening up. Yes, it is a little scary thinking about the possibility of this world taking education to the level where nothing is face to face any more, but in this day and age, it is nice to have the option. Life gets so busy, but being able to complete your work in the comfort of your own sphere is important. I have to admit, I have always had some leading misconceptions about the idea of online degree programs. After reading an article by Ken O'Connor, who gives tips on the decision making process for online degree programs, I felt a little better (link here: http://j.mp/iJmSKs). After this particular article here on usnews, I feel even better about it knowing that top schools are seeing online educations' benefits too! Thanks for the read!
