8 Big Mistakes Online Students Make

I would add that it is a mistake to attend a university that does not have a proven track record of success at online courses. I am attending a state university that seems to have realized that online courses are a big money maker. Unfortunately, they do not have the bandwidth, or enough faculty to actually deal with the number of online students they have accepted. They saw $$ and now education is secondary.

@Debera Durham It is never too late. I am so sorry that you had so many people in your life. But the good news is that it's your life and only you can live it! It doesn't matter what anyone has said to you, says to you now or will say to you, God has a provision for each and every person. If you want to go back to school, do it. Community college is a great option to start so are online classes. I suggest just contacting a few school and talk to a their admissions counselors. They'll be able to get you in the direction you want to go. Great success and God bless you! You are somebody and you have everything God wants you to have now and you'll have everything He wants you to have later. Just trust and believe Him!

For those of you looking at online degrees (I earned my MBA online), check out the Online Education Database (http://oedb.org/rankings). They do a great job of ranking colleges through a variety of ways and if you're interested in researching a university's standings, it's a great place to start.

I completed my second Master's degree through the University of Wyoming online (College of Health Sciences). Not only did it compare favorably to the MBA that I received from a highly-respected traditional university in terms of the quality of the learning experience, I also found the faculty and staff to be much more caring and attentive than any other school I've attended...even though I'm 1500 miles away. The best educational experience of my life, without a doubt. I would recommend the University of Wyoming most highly.

I will be starting my MS in speech-language pathology Fall 2011. I have my choice of 4 schools, and have narrowed my options down to 2. I have compared and contrasted all aspects of the schools (University of Wyoming and University of Northern Colorado). Now I am looking for graduates or current students of these programs to tell me their thoughts and feelings about their experiences, and how they truly feel about the program.

Is there a website where I can find this info?
