Great post. I would also add to your other free sites my new test prep site, http://www.freetestprep.com. I hope your readers find it helpful!

I'm sorry, but this article is useless compared to its headline. Seven strategies to improve your score? It should be "7 things you might find interesting about the ACT or SAT." At best, three of the suggestions are helpful - online prep, practice tests and choose the correct test. Exactly how does "be skeptical of published test scores" help you to improve your score?

I really liked this page. It was very informative and I learned something new. When I take the ACT again i'll recommended my friends to this website for information. I'll try the SAT too, I'm sure it wouldn't hurt.

This is really good information to post, a lot of people I know took both but only sent one set of scores because one test was more suited to them. It's a great idea to think of what test would be better suited to you in advance! www.freetestprep.com has some great, free practice that might give kids an idea of how the SAT and ACT differ

I have been practicing with the practice papers. I don't know how much they are going to help. I really need to make some of my sleepy hours to study a lot to get good score.....

Some of these are very good tips!

However, I would mostly recomend taking both tests (if the cost is not too high). You won't truely know which test you do better on until you take them both. However, if the cost is high, you can find free ACT and SAT tests all around the net. One website I found recently, http://www.freetestprep.com even gives you tests that are as hard or more difficult than the real thing, so it will definitely prepare you. I just wouldn't limit myself to one exam

I think it is not necessary to go private consultations...I am international student and I prepared myself using Princeteon books. I had solid scores on SAT (1720) - my preparation lasted one month and I am very satisfied with this score. My tip for future students: Start your preparation on time , and give yourselves at least three months for preparation. I think I would do it better if I started practising earlier.

I like many of your recommendations but your recommendation of that book is odd. Why would any one need to buy a $10 book to figure out which test is better? when practice tests for each are free? Test takers should download a practice SAT and Practice ACT http://www.act.org/aap/pdf/preparing.pdf and just take them under timed conditions, then use the concordance chart to figure out which they did better on.
