by the time I finish my 120 payments I will be retired. Why isn't there loan forgiveness for people over 65? I have been paying forever!

I would like to know how to get help with working with a college where you weren't able to continue after 2 weeks but turned in the letter 1 day late and they want to charge $5200 for the entire semester. There has to be something that can be done about that.

I was once known as a notraditional student, as I returned to school after an injury and finished my BSW at age 56. I borrowed around $20,000. for the completion of my degree in 1996. I began paying money to the departmetn of Education and my debt which zoomed to @ $40,000. began to reduce. In the past week I found that my money was no longer going to the Dept. of ED, and I now owed $66,000. The money is comming out of my SSI payment, and I am currently not working due to a food injury. HELP! I am now a 71 and very upset about this trick played by my government. Is there anything I can do

Dear Ranger,

If a bank has dispersed your student loan to an educational institution and you have not received it and are met with a run around from the institution who can you report the institution to and how do you go about it?The bank says once they dispense it there is nothing they can do about it.
