Why not try online education programs? I am considering that and think that will benifit many more people too, so I recommend it.

I check schools and programs at

And hope that will help you too.

Another resource for adults looking to return to college is http://www.collegechoicesforadults.org. At this site you are presented with program learning outcomes, measures of those outcomes and results of those measures. Or in English, what you will learn, how they will test your learning and how well current students have performed on those tests.

In August we'll be launching a new look, new features, and additional data so be sure to bookmark us and come back often!

In addition to the US News links in the piece, you might try Peterson’s, eLearners and CollegeStats Web sites -- or just call up a college in your area and ask (they’ll be happy to tell).

If you’re in the military, be sure to check out the ServiceMembers Opportunity College (SOC) degree network system. Check out the link for your particular branch (Army, Navy, National Guard, etc.) If you’re in the Army, also check out eArmyU.

I love online education. It saves me time to study new things in time. But there are really too many online education programs on internet and it is hard to tell which is good and which is not. You need experience. I am using http://www.online...ator.org this website and want to select some programs. Still underconsideration. Any suggestion?

Lynn,

All 7 points are good to note. I think out of the total 7 points, the best ones are "Checking the credentials of the colleges or institutions" and "finding alternatives" before making any choice of "for-profit institutions.

Jennifer
