Watching a funny show, one that makes you LOL. This action will enhance your creativity and ability to solve problems. Where as a thriller type show will stifle those creative juices. ( Mind magazine, August 2011)

An easy and incredibly effective way to prepare your brain for a test is to go for a run or some other form of cardiovascular exercise before class. This increases brain function and your ability to recall what you studied is increased exponentially. After all, whats the use of studying if you're unable to remember most of the information when it matters? 30 minutes of increased blood flow will prepare your brain for optimal function, and its a great way to blow off some stress.

I teach language and a lot of stuff needs to be memorized. I recommend spreading the information out over a number of days. The schedule for quizzes and tests is provided at the beginning of the semester. Before students begin to study they should have a complete set of grammar points which I provide in my Course Management System. Equipped with these tools and plenty of preparation students should expect a grade that reflects their time on task. Professors always are willing to help those students who demonstrative motivation.

Great tips, I want to further confirm “Conspire with the prof.” In school I rarely “bothered” the professor during his/her office hours. Once I started teaching I had a totally different viewpoint; a respect for students who pursued their academic goals and went the extra mile to meet with me.
