Well that sounds like EVERY SINGLE professor/teacher at a public Mexican university.

I'm back and would like to say that cdjrun had the most useful comments on the post. You were right and I took your advice. I'm a smarter person because of all this. There are some professors that see the classroom as their personal fiefdoms. I had a good and long reputation as a serious student and it went a long way when I decided to speak out.

No syllabus; No college credits as in i have more than him; tests are fill in the blank like a mad lib; he teaches us the wrong information, then tests on information the class knows is wrong; Gives us handouts with information strait off of wikipedia. The class i am in all got tested for cert. green prof. (this was done outside of the college) he got the worst score on the test. I really enjoyed that one. He got his job cuz his mommy has worked at the college for twenty years. His buisness failed and the government threw money at the college for green construction. So bingo he wins we all (the students/taxpayers) lose.

Ok seriously he did what? and you did nothing? Take it from experience, next time someone does something sexually inappropriate especially in that type of setting you immediately let them know 1. You do not like their sexual behavior to you. 2. You demand that they cease and desist immediately. 3. You warn them if that they do not, you will be forced to take further action. Because, you did neither of those you are now in the predicament you are in. Look at it this way, things could get ugly either way but would you rather be the person who says nothing and lets this continue to happen possible to other people - or - would you rather be the person who says No, this is unacceptable and put your foot down. I'm not saying this is your fault by any means and I wouldn't be surprised if your not the only one this has happened too, that is if what you are saying is the truth but regardless of the circumstances, you are your own responsibility. It is important to start writing/keeping record of every inappropriate event down starting at the beginning. If you feel that he is not replying to you, email him, then its on record. If you feel like he might do it again, have a friend wait for you after class, do not put yourself alone with this guy. And for any reason you might be, turn your phone into a camera and record. You can just hold it in your hand and they will never know it's on. Good luck

My instructor for Sociology is a real dull drag. He sets at a desk and read straight out the book and from his powerpoint slides. I've never had an instructor for class who sets down and teach--the WHOLE CLASS PERIOD. There is this one girl who comes in late by about 15 minutes EVERY class period, disturbing the class, and she has never been given a verbal warning or asked for a conference with this instructor--by the way he is male. I myself can't stand him because he shows outright favortism and has no control over his classroom. Once I had my hand raised in class to ask him a question and he totally ignored me. It really doesn't bother me because I study none stop and get high grades on all my exams. My question is why would he favor the not so good students over the students who come to class prepared and ready to learn? Seems to me his ways are all twisted. If I were a professor I would applaud the students who do well and want to learn. I have the highest overall grade in his class a 92.4 and he constantly tries to put me on the spot and call me out by throwing random questions at me. He is doing this to demean me because half the time I be in dreamland in his class. I can't help it. If he were to at least stand up and walk around in class instead of setting his ass down in a chair, the whole class period, I would be more alert. I'll be so damned glad when this semester is over in two weeks.

I'm a responsible student but my professor propositioned me. When I acted ignorant and tried to steer things away from the sex he got mean. Does not post me the homework, gives certain students the answers to tests prior to taking the tests, does not take my questions in class, gives everyone but me curves on the tests. How or what should I do? I need the course and am afraid no one will believe me since everyone else in the class loves him because he is so sweet to them. It feels like he is punishing me for turning him down and that feels like rape!

I think bad professor types have a tendency to change depending on the subject matter. In graphic design for example a bad professor would be someone who offers criticism that isn't constructive instead they devalue student's work and demean their creative abilities. Furthermore, if they play favorites in class it serves only to separate students and prevent collaboration. More than anything being straight rude to students in front of the class is a form of public humiliation.

The guy above is obviously biased based on his experience. At our campus, we've had a horrible experience with many of our professors who have been extremely vague, did not give us specific instructions, and were very aggressive when we would approach them with legit questions. Some of our professors have done a wonderful job, and have actually cared for our success as well.

We're in our final semester, two weeks left, and go figure, one of the professors is giving us a hard time for something that is out of our control. We've even offered a viable solution that would effectively be a win-win solution for everyone, but the prof just tells us to stop whining and has left us with no choice in the matter. We went to our dean and voiced these concerns as this guy is basically screwing with our future and not being reasonable at all.

I am going to be 25 this summer, and I'd hate to think that I did not have my dull diploma because of one measly course in which I didn't really learn anything from anyways....Anxiety and tension has been extremely high these last two weeks because of this, and it's not doing anyone good.

I don't understand why some narcissistic people are professors when they lack the inter-personal skills to deal with people on a constant basis. I'm not saying people can't have bad days, but it seems like we're constantly fighting a battle that does not need to take place. Our professor has admitted to having two strokes and has even said he feels another coming on.

He will frequently say one thing and then deny he said this or that. Some people should NOT be teaching. These are the kind of people who send people over the edge and cause way more problems than they solve. I cannot wait for this semester to end, because I actually feel like I am becoming depressed from this work environment.

I am so tired of the stereotype of student, supposedly we get drunk every wknd, were all out of high school, sleep around all the time, drug users, partiers, lazy, dont have jobs and mommy and daddy pay for everything! Ok first I am a military veteran, 31 who doesnt drink or party so when it comes down to it students get the backlash of crappy professors. most of the professors are in a contract so that the school cant rid of them and plus I am paying for these courses, not the professors! my taxpayers dollars pay for that professors check! I am a big supporter of teachers but for the ones that suck, I have no mercy on them just like the way they dont have mercy on me. Just in case in anyone is curious I have a GPA of 3.3!

I had my first class for oral and interpersonal communication. The teacher was suppose to email us our worksheet for the 1st assignment by Thursday afternoon. Thursday night i emailed her saying i didn't receive it like she told us to do if we didn't get it. Never heard anything back so I emailed her again Friday. Now it is Saturday and i have limited time to complete my assignment that i have no idea how long it is going to take. How am I suppose to learn anything from a communications teacher that wont communicate with me? I am very unhappy and would like to drop this class and i feel i deserve a full refund. In her syllabus she states that late assignments will get deducted half the points. If I am expected to have my assignments done on time why shouldn't she be expected to get them out to us on time?
